![]() It's fine to like it but it ain't for me. Saint's Row 3 and later entries leant too hard in the goofy direction in my opinion, I liked the stark contrast 2 ended up having where you're just, in theory, a career criminal doing criminal shit (then it gets a little crazy with Ultor joining in, but it still stays a little grounded as they are kinda realist PMC styled guys over the literal sci-fi shit SR3 pulls), SR3 onwards just says fuck it and does what it wants. Saint's Row 2 was a flawed masterpiece, broken and janky but also incredibly fun to play and mess around in, the game story's tone doesn't exactly follow the gameplay but the actual missions take this on board and what it ends with is a semi-serious tone accentuated by batshit gameplay, it just kinda worked. Saint's Row 1 was a chore, an absolute slog of a game that was held together by it's actually kinda fun, enjoyable story with some great characters actually. ![]()
